Christian Fish Tattoo
One of the earliest symbols of Christ, is the fish-symbol of a Greek abbreviation for his name and titles won. “Iesous Christos Theou Uios, Soter” in English means “Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Savior.” The initials spell check ichthus, the Greek word for “fish” (ch and th are each one letter in Greek) is. The early Christians used the symbol as a covert means of identification in order to escape persecution.
